Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, chilled and cubed
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 tsp sea salt

Instructions:

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F and lightly grease a 9-inch tart pan.
  • In a food processor, pulse together flour, cocoa powder, powdered sugar, and chilled butter until a dough forms.
  • Press the dough into the tart pan, making sure to evenly cover the bottom and sides.
  • Bake for 15-20 minutes, then let cool completely.
  • In a small saucepan, heat granulated sugar and water over medium-high heat until it turns a deep amber color.
  • Remove from heat and carefully stir in heavy cream and butter until smooth.
  • Pour caramel over the cooled tart shell and sprinkle with sea salt.
  • In a separate saucepan, heat heavy cream until simmering then pour over chocolate chips.
  • Let sit for a few minutes, then stir until smooth. Pour over the caramel layer.
  • Refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.
