My husband couldn’t stop raving about these Baked Apple Fritters at our last family dinner. The look of surprise on his face when he took the first bite was priceless! These fritters are a definite crowd-pleaser and perfect for any special occasion.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups diced apples
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions:

  • In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, and vanilla extract.
  • Slowly add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined.
  • Gently fold in the diced apples.
  • Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 375°F.
  • Drop spoonfuls of batter into the hot oil and fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  • Remove fritters from the oil and drain on paper towels.
  • Sprinkle with powdered sugar before serving.
